Friendly Reminders
🛑 Community Parking Reminder: Help Keep Our Streets Safe!
With street parking becoming increasingly common throughout the community, we want to remind residents to be mindful of where they park and to keep important areas clear for pedestrian safety and emergency access.
Under Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S. § 42-4-1204), vehicles are generally prohibited from parking in the following locations:
- Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
- Within 30 feet of the approach to a stop sign.
- Within 5 feet of a public or private driveway.
- On or within a designated crosswalk.
Parking restrictions also apply around fire hydrants. Please be sure to keep these areas clear and follow applicable City requirements.
We have seen an increase in vehicles parking near stop signs, in front of fire hydrants, and over crosswalks throughout the community. These situations can create visibility concerns for drivers and pedestrians and may interfere with emergency vehicle access.
As part of the City of Brighton's Vision Zero goal to improve traffic and pedestrian safety, the Board is considering requesting that the City paint curbs in designated no-parking areas near fire hydrants, crosswalks, and stop signs. Clearly marked areas could help residents better identify where parking is restricted.
Please do your part to keep our community safe by following parking restrictions, keeping intersections and crosswalks clear, and being considerate of your neighbors.
🍂 Fall Lawn and Landscape Maintenance
Please take some time to prepare your yards and landscaping for the colder months ahead. Continue mowing as needed, remove weeds and fallen leaves, trim overgrown plants, and clear out dead vegetation. Don't forget to winterize irrigation systems and disconnect garden hoses before freezing temperatures arrive. A little seasonal maintenance goes a long way in keeping our community looking its best throughout the year!
❄️ Winter Reminder: Snow and Ice Removal
As we approach the winter season, please remember that residents are responsible for clearing snow and ice from the sidewalks adjacent to their properties. Keeping sidewalks clear helps ensure safe passage for pedestrians, neighbors, and children walking to school
🗑️ Trash Can Reminder
Please Remember to Store Your Trash Cans Properly
Trash cans and receptacles should be kept in a clean and sanitary condition and should not be stored in an exposed or unsightly manner. Please store your trash cans in your garage or behind your fence/enclosure so they are not visible from the street. Trash containers may be placed out for collection as needed but should be removed from the curb the same day as pickup.
🎄Seasonal Decorations
Seasonal decorations do not require approval when installed on a residential lot as long as they are consistent with community standards and are removed within 30 days of the holiday. Decorations placed on District-owned or managed property require written consent from the District.
💩 Please Pick Up After Your Pets 🐾
We’ve received more reports of pet waste being left in common areas, including parks and open spaces. Please remember to clean up after your pets immediately and dispose of waste properly.
Pet waste can create health and environmental concerns—thank you for helping keep our community clean.
